The use of ultra-high-pressure water (jet cutting) accompanied by an abrasive allows the cold-cutting of steel, as well as working in atmospheres where there is a risk of explosion. Due to the fact that the cutting by the abrasive takes place in an aqueous environment, any risk of explosion is eliminated.
What they are
The preparation/execution protocols of this work are followed with complete safety in mind. The entire cutting process is robotised by remote control, which pneumatically operates the robot’s drives.
The robot and utensils are supported on a specific structure that does not allow any worker within the radius of action. This reduces to zero the risks of cuts and sprayed water and abrasive on people.
Main characteristics:
- Use of ultra-high-pressure (UHP) equipment of 2,500 bar
- A remote controlled robot does the cutting
- Accessories and a tank to be able to spray the cutting sand
- There is no significant increase of the cut surface area
- Cold cutting
