Hydrodemolition consists in using high-pressure water to remove concrete without damaging the reinforcement.
The fact that concrete is a porous material is an essential characteristic for the hydrodemolition process. By spraying a jet of water at high pressure, it enters the pores of concrete and causes micro-fissures, and as these fissures are linked together, larger parts are eliminated.
Depending on the characteristics of the concrete, the proper combination of flow rate and pressure is determined to provide the ideal energy for each case.
This system, unlike traditional systems, does not generate vibrations or damage the structure.
Hydrodemolition is the only concrete removal method allowed by public administrations in countries such as the USA, Japan, Switzerland, Italy and Sweden.
Given that this system does not cause cracks in the repaired structure, a longer period of time elapses between any needed maintenance operations on the concrete.
Hydrodemolition work can be performed in different ways:

- Semi-robotised Equipment at 3,000 bar and 44 lpm* using a robotised accessory.
- Robotised Equipment at 1000 Bar and 262 lpm* using a hydrodemolition robot.
