Oil
Flushing consists in running hydraulic fluid through the circuit to be cleaned, at a speed that is far above its regular working speed. This action creates a turbulent and non-laminar flow, the purpose of which is to dislodge and eliminate contamination by particles.
The usual procedure for flushing is the following:
- Disconnection of actuators.
- Creating a closed circuit.
- Installation of a specific pump and filtering equipment.
- Process of flushing the fluid through the closed circuit, while changing to finer filters to eliminate any dislodged particles.
The following working fluid can be used:
- Oils with detergents
- The regular oil that is used (most common)
The flushing treatment is usually done during maintenance periods of the hydraulic installation or when an element of the installation has to be replaced.
The usual procedure for flushing is the following:
- An isometric drawing of the circuit
- The flushing volume
- The pumping flow rate
- The oil that is pumped
- Final quality of NAS grade 1638
