Decapados
y pasivados
El decapado es un tratamiento superficial de metales que se utiliza para eliminar impurezas, tales como: manchas, contaminantes inorgánicos, herrumbre de aleaciones de metales ferrosos, cobre y aluminio. Se utiliza una solución química, que contiene ácidos fuertes, para remover impurezas superficiales.
La pasivación es la formación de una película relativamente inerte sobre la superficie de un metal, que lo enmascara en contra de la acción de agentes externos. Aunque la reacción entre el metal y el agente externo sea termodinámicamente factible a nivel macroscópico, la capa o película pasivante no permite que estos puedan interactuar, de tal manera que la reacción química o electroquímica se ve reducida o completamente impedida.
Realizado el tratamiento pasivante nos permite proteger la superficie hasta que vuelva a entrar el producto y así impedimos un inicio prematuro de la oxidación.
Estos tratamientos se suelen encadenar al proceso de desengrasado en el caso de existir productos orgánicos y que el metal base del equipo esté oxidado. En función del metal base se adecua el tipo de ácido para conseguir la máxima efectividad sin dañarlo. Podemos tratar los siguientes materiales:

Durante esta etapa, se incluyen inhibidores de corrosión para evitar que el equipo se deteriore; paralelamente se realizan de forma periódica análisis de la disolución química para evaluar el estado del ácido y del metal base. Con esa información se puede adaptar y controlar el proceso de forma muy dinámica y precisa.
