The fuel oil decontamination service is essential as excess water in the product can negatively affect the efficiency and performance of your equipment.
The presence of water in the fuel not only decreases its calorific value, but can also cause problems such as corrosion and deterioration of fuel system components.
Fuel Decontamination Service in Lagupres
We specialise in the optimisation of your fuel systems, and one of our outstanding services is the dehydration or removal of water from diesel fuel.
Our Decontamination Process:
At Lagupres, we use advanced methods with specialised technologies to effectively eliminate excess water in your fuel oil. Our team of highly trained professionals ensures that your fuel meets the highest quality standards.
Key steps in the removal of water from diesel oil

Water Level Analysis:
We assess the water content of your fuel oil to determine the most effective dehydration strategy.
Water Separation:
We use physical separation technologies to remove water from fuel oil in an efficient way.
Filtration and Monitoring:
We implement filtration and continuous monitoring systems to ensure optimum fuel quality.
Benefits of dehydration
Improved fuel efficiency.
Prolongation of equipment lifetime.
Environmental and safety compliance.
Technical procedure for the decontamination of fuel oil
In order to determine the technical procedure, each case and the particularities of the client will be studied in detail in order to adapt the best specific procedure.
As an example of a generic procedure we have the following methodology:
1- The contaminated tanks are emptied by means of a pneumatic pump. This will be emptied from the top into an auxiliary tank or reservoir (where the drying equipment will be installed), thus ensuring that any water that may have settled will remain at the bottom. This process greatly improves the performance of the subsequent drying process.
Normally, in the last few cubic metres of contaminated diesel, the water content is higher. These last litres will be left in auxiliary tanks and left to decant, so that it can be dried at the last moment.
2- Once the tank has been emptied, access is gained to the interior to try to remove as much sludge and moisture as possible.
3- The diesel oil is recirculated through the coalescent filtering machine to remove the moisture from the diesel oil.
Lagupres equipment has a wide working range (litres/minute) in order to optimise times according to the amount of diesel oil to be filtered and the % of humidity to be removed.
4- During the process, the moisture content of the diesel fuel is monitored by means of a measuring device (AquaSensor).
5- We transfer the litres of dry fuel back into the cleaned tank.
